  6. Thank you for using Simple Install.  I hope this is a utility you use often.

  8. Simple Install is a "simple" to use utility to do simple installations.
  9.  
  10. I designed Simple Install with 4 goals in mind; a small executable; a
  11. professional, but not overdone, interface; as few user required inputs
  12. as possible; and a very simple and straight forward build process.  I 
  13. think I achieved all of these goals.  There are install programs that do
  14. everything in the world for you; after you learn a new language.  There is
  15. a place for these programs but none can call themselves, Simple Install.

  18. Below is a list of all files included in the Simple Install distribution.

  20. install.exe                 -- Simple Install program
  21. simpcom.exe                 -- Simple Install program
  22. simpins1.dat                -- Sample dat file  (no endtext, no runcommand)
  23. simpins2.dat                -- Sample dat file  (endtext)
  24. simpins3.dat                -- Sample dat file  (runcommand)
  25. install.doc                 -- Simple Install Docs
  26. read.me                     -- This file
  27. distrib.doc                 -- Rules for distribution

  39. Registration:
  40. See register.doc for complete registration info.  Simple Install is $50.00 US
  41. and you can register by mail or on Compuserve.

  44. Tech Section:
  45. Simple Install was developed with Borland's Turbo C++ v3.0 and FUNCky II by
  46. dLesko.  I would reccomend both for any developer.

  49. Future Plans:

  51. 1.  Re-writing simpcom.exe and the decompress portion of install.exe to
  52. reduce the size of install.exe and to increase the compression factor of
  53. simpcom.exe.
  54.  
  55. 2.  A language independant install.exe.  Messages will be loaded into
  56. install.exe during the build process after a language has been identified.
